Treatments

Your treatment is one on one with Julia for the session and includes assessment or re-assessment, hands on or exercise based treatment (yoga or traditional physical therapy exercise), time for questions and a few minutes at the end for writing out exercises and other administrative tasks so that the next appointment can also begin on time.

On arrival: please check in with the reception desk and have a seat in the main lobby. Help yourself to some tea! If you are booked in for an early morning or mid-day session you may find the main doors locked. In this case Julia is in treatment with a client and will be down to let you in for your appointment!

Initial Assessment - 60 Minute

$105

Please book this option if this is your first visit with Julia OR if you are seeing her for a new injury or condition. The session includes an in-depth analysis of your health and injury history, postural assessment and more specific techniques to determine the root causes and to co-create a plan of action.

Follow Up Treatment

30 Minute: $75

45 Minute: $90

60 Minute: $105

Please select the time frame after discussion with Julia on your initial visit. Depending on the plan of action more or less time may be required for combined hands-on therapy, traditional exercise and/or therapeutic yoga asana.

Private Yoga Session

60 Minute $105

90 Minute: $140

This option can be selected with or without first booking an initial assessment. PLEASE NOTE: Private yoga sessions are only covered by extended health as part of a treatment plan (so must be booked following an initial assessment). If you do not have extended health benefits or are choosing simply to book for a yoga session you can select this option even on your first visit.

Make The Most Of Your Sessions

Bring Your Questions.

Please write down any questions you want answered during your session. If you have an extensive injury background or complicated health history it is also helpful to bring in a list of past injuries or illnesses and any reports (x-ray, MRI, ultrasound etc).

Be Well Hydrated.

One of the single most important requirements in healing is to be well hydrated. You can even start right now! Thirsty yet?

Bring A Notebook.

This one isn't required but many people find that making their own notes can really help them remember what they have learned. You will also receive details about any exercises given during the session but your own words often stick even better!

Clothing.

Please come prepared with loose fitting/comfortable clothing. If you are have a knee assessed please bring a pair of shorts. For neck and shoulder assessment and treatment please wear a small strapped tank top, bandeau, or sports bra if that applies to you.


About Julia

Julia offers a truly unique perspective physical and yoga - therapy by combining her physical therapy training and extensive sports background with her love and knowledge of yoga. Julia has been a student of human movement for 25 years and has cultivated her physical therapy practice to include an extensive tool kit including perceptive and complete, whole body assessments with hands on treatment if required, traditional and targeted physical therapy exercises and extensive yoga asana (posture) instruction.

Julia holds a Kinesiology degree from the University of Windsor, a Masters in Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario, and post graduate certificates in Manual Therapy through the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. She is also certified in Moksha Level 1 and 2, Moksha Flow and Yin Yoga. Julia has recently joined the faculty for Moksha Level 1 trainings with Moksha Yoga International where she teaches Functional Anatomy to new yoga teachers.

In 2011, Julia opened Moksha Yoga Burnaby with her partner Eric and incorporated yoga into her physiotherapy practice. She is thrilled to be able to make this offering in the peaceful, simple setting of the yoga studio and is pleased to be able to take the time needed to treat the body-mind in a connected, complete way through one on one treatments and/or private or small group yoga sessions.
